a trip to: forest holidays

Back in September (which was four months ago yet feels like five minutes ago!) Joel and I went on holiday to North Yorkshire. We've only ever stayed at places for the weekend before so it was nice to get away from our usual lives for a little bit longer this time. We stayed in the most beautiful cabin with a company called Forest Holidays at their Keldy site and it's safe to say that we didn't want to go back home by the time our holiday was over.

They have several types of cabins that you can choose from and we ended up booking a Golden Oak cabin. This meant that we got a log burner and logs, lots of towels (or maybe it just seemed that way because there was only two of us!), fluffy robes and slippers for when you get out of your hot tub and the cabin is situated in one of their prime locations. We also added on their entertainment package which gives you lots of movies, Sky sports and wifi in your cabin. We honestly couldn't have been happier with how our cabin turned out. It was spotless and had everything you needed, especially in the kitchen area which was fully equipped.

My favourite thing by miles was the hot tub and I'm surprised I didn't come away looking like a prune because I spent as much time as I could in it. I imagine it would be amazing to be sat in there in the winter with snow around you. After we'd been exploring during the day it was also lovely to snuggle up in front of the log burner and watch a movie or two. You can even order yummy food and drinks through your TV and the super helpful staff bring it straight to your cabin door! (We may have taken advantage of this one too many times. Oops.)

I personally found the Keldy site to be in such a perfect location. The site itself was in the middle of nowhere and driving through the proper countryside daily was wonderful. There were several places not far away, the furthest maybe a 40 minute drive at most, such as Pickering, Whitby, Scarborough and Dalby Forest. We also discovered some beautiful little towns and villages along the way.

All in all it turned out to be such a perfect and relaxing holiday and we will definitely be booking another break with Forest Holidays at some point in the (hopefully very near) future!

Have you been on a Forest Holidays break before? Are you having any holidays this year?
